It was after Instagram user WelvenDaGreat shared a video of himself cracking a joke about Deez nuts to a friend over the phone. Brady Olson, a 15-year-old Iowa native, actually ran for office under this name. Because he wanted to vent his resentment toward the two major political parties. Furthermore, user Javalicius uploaded an expanded version of WelvenDaGreat’s video on YouTube on March 24, 2015. In addition, over the next three weeks, it received over 490,000 views and 290 comments.

On April 4, a clip from the children’s television program Blue’s Clues had a “Deez nuts” video added at the conclusion. Far ahead, this release was on the Mykleeproduction Instagram page.

Viner Khadi Don shared footage from the 2002 blockbuster film Spider-Man. Along with that, it was on April 11 with the “deeez nutts” clip overlaid on top of the original soundtrack. A collection of prominent “deeez nutts” Vine remixes was posted to the Co Vines YouTube account. Also, in less than 48 hours, this video had more than 126,000 views and 70 comments.

Yet, Deez Nuts was polling at 9% in North Carolina, 8% in Minnesota, and 7% in Iowa. According to the company, the following day, the ABC 11 news station in North Carolina tweeted. It was about the polling results. By assuring viewers, they were “hacked.”

The tweet received over 9,000 retweets and 4,400 favorites on the first day. On that day, many news outlets, including The Week, IBTimes, The Daily Beast, NY Mag, and The Daily Caller, published articles about the polling results for the joke name.
